What to Expect After the Surgery?

After the operation your doctor will prescribe you with eye drops and ointment to prevent eye dryness. But it is still natural for eyelids to typically feel tight. Swelling and purple spots may occur after the surgery due to delicacy of the eye skin. These will diminish within a week. We do not expect a very painful period after these surgeries. Usually patients reduce the pain by taking simple pain killers at home used by everyone. It would be better to rest at home during this period.

Eyes are not covered after the surgery. Small tapes will be placed over incisions under and over the eye and these stitches will be removed after one week.

You will feel much better with the new appearance of your eyes after surgery. You can watch TV, use your computer or read after the surgery. However if you are using contact lenses, I recommend you to wait for 2 weeks before you put them back on. It will be healthier to wear your glasses for some time.
