What Are the Types of Botox?

Botulinum toxin, or botox for short, is a purified protein-containing toxin obtained from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. Botox, which prevents the movement of nerve endings and their transmission to other organs, is the most used substance in medical aesthetic procedures. Temporary blocking of nerve endings limits muscle movements to a certain extent, reducing and eliminating the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles on the skin.

Which Facial Areas Can be Treated with Botox?

Although the Botox procedure is also used in the treatment of sweating and the prevention of chronic migraine pain, the most common areas of its use are facial areas.

Botox is an effective treatment for wrinkles in the forehead area, fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, lines between the two eyebrows, and wrinkles in the lip and chin area. Although the Botox application is sometimes confused with the facial fillings, the two are very different procedures. Botox does not have any plumping effect.

How Does Botox Procedure Work?

During the procedure, the skin surface is first cleaned and an anesthetic cream is applied. After making sure that the area to be treated is numbed, botulinum toxin is injected into the determined points in these areas. Botox is not a painful application. As long as it is applied by a specialist doctor, it is completely safe and risk-free. The process shows its effect in 3-4 days and maintains the results for up to 6 months. If the patient wishes, s/he can renew her/his botox.

Types of Botox

  • Psycho Botox: It is the standard botox application. It provides the removal of lines and wrinkles caused by excessive use of mimics. It is more preferred by middle-aged people.
  • Minimal Botox: A minimal dose is applied only to certain points. The aim is to add a more lively and energetic appearance to the person. It gives a much more natural result than the standard botox procedure.
  • Baby Botox: It is the best option for patients who want to reduce their wrinkles but not limit their facial expressions. This method gives a more natural result by applying fewer doses like minimal botox. Thus, the movement of facial muscles is not restricted and wrinkles are eliminated.
  • Preventative Botox: It’s used to take precautions against the effects of aging from a young age and to protect the skin. It’s frequently preferred by people who work in show business or professionally in front of the camera.
  • Botox for Men:  It is known as Brotox. The procedure is specially planned for men since their muscular systems are different from women. This process aims to make the face look younger and livelier and to remove the signs of aging.
  • Nefertiti (neck) Botox: This method targets the lower jawline and neck area. Wrinkles in the chin and neck area are controlled, and smoother and younger-looking skin is obtained with this application.
  • Botox for Therapeutic Purposes: As the name suggests, it is applied for purely therapeutic purposes. Excessive sweating, chronic migraine headaches, and teeth grinding are the main problems in which botox treatment is used.
